Hi' I am Claire
I am a Registered Occupational Therapist. I began my career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant over 30 years ago. Then in 1994, I furthered my education and became an OTR, graduating from Misercordia University in Dallas PA. I have experience in a multitude of settings including outpatient clinics, homecare, hospitals, pre-schools, and skilled care facilities. However, the last 14 years have been dedicated to pediatrics in an outpatient setting. Working with children is where my heart is. I have attended numerous continuing education courses in a variety of topics related to pediatrics, and many devoted to Sensory Integration. I specialize in providing sensory-based feeding therapy, as I have many years of experience working with children with feeding issues. I have attended numerous continuing education courses in feeding. When treating children with feeding problems, I primarily use Marsha Dunn-Klein OTR/L “Get Permission Approach.”
My greatest joy is to spend quality time with my family. I also very much enjoy reading in my spare time.

What I Like Most About Working with Patients
I love helping a children gain confidence in themselves. Seeing a big smile on their face when they realize they are able to do something they couldn’t do before is a rewarding feeling. I enjoy working and helping families by providing home program suggestions to meet their needs and help improve their quality of life.
What Patients Like Most About Me and My Organization
I think parents can see that I genuinely care about their child when I work with them. I feel they appreciate the fact that I make the time to educate them about sensory integration. I feel it is important to listen to the needs and concerns of the family. SMART is a professional and caring organization that knows how to treat the child as a whole and turns “work” into “play.”
