Sarah “Marie" Watson
What is the essence of what you do?
I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). I graduated from Brown Mackie College with an Associate of Applied Science for Occupational Therapy Assistant. Some of my academic achievements include induction into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society and graduating with departmental honors. I have experience working with children in both the school and clinic setting, as well as experience working with adults in skilled nursing.
Your Personal Interests?
I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling to new places.
What do you believe (quote that describes you):
“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” –Bill Cosby
What do you like most about your job?
What’s not to love about getting to work/play with kids all day? Working with children is a blessing and I am privileged to have the opportunity to be part of such a great treatment team.
Why did you choose to become an Occupational Therapist?
Every day I am amazed by the success stories of the children (and families) that we work with. I love helping kids overcome obstacles and gain the skills they need to live happy and healthy lives while playing games and doing activities they enjoy.
What do patients like most about you? And your organization?
Families love coming to SMART Pediatric Therapy because the staff is friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to work with each patient. We enjoy working with each child on an individual level and giving them the “just right” challenge so they can be successful in reaching their goals. The kids especially like how we make “work” seem more like “play.” The results each family sees in their child most often exceeds their expectations and greatly benefits their lives on a daily basis.
