What is the essence of what you do?
I am a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist. I graduated in 2017 from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona with a Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. My passion has always been in pediatric therapy, and I have experience working with children in schools, outpatient settings, and home health.
Your personal interests:
My favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my little family, watching my baby boy grow has been my greatest joy. You can almost always find us outside, exploring, and finding new adventures together.
What do you believe? (A quote that describes you):
“Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they’re worthy.”
What do you like most about working with patients?
I love that each day brings new opportunities—for both me and the kids. I learn just as much from them as they learn from me during the sessions. It is such a blessing to watch them grow leaps and bounds through therapeutic play and to see the carry-over into their everyday lives. Most of all, I love how much joy the kids have when they accomplish something they’ve been working so hard towards.
Why did you choose to become an occupational therapy assistant?
I have always known that I wanted my career to be something where I could use my passion to help people. That desire has been deeply rooted in my heart from the very beginning. When I discovered occupational therapy, I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I love that it is a practice centered around the client where we look at the whole person (physically, emotionally, and mentally) and I get to help them live life to the fullest.
What do patients like most about you? And your organization?
I think the kids most like how energetic I am and how willing I am to do the activities right alongside them, cheering them on every step of the way. I love to make the sessions fun and lighthearted, learning from our mistakes, and laughing while doing it.
