What is the essence of what you do?
I am an occupational therapist and graduated from Saint Louis University in 2016 with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. I love working with children and have experience in a multitude of settings, including sensory integration, aquatics, schools, home health, early intervention, and feeding therapy.
Your Personal Interests?
I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my family. My husband and I especially love hiking with our Australian Shepherd, Riley.
What do you believe (quote that describes you):
“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” – William James
What do you like most about working with patients?
My favorite part about working with my patients is getting to know each child and tailoring each therapy session to their needs and interests. It is extremely rewarding to watch a child grow and meet their goals.
Why did you choose to become an Occupational Therapist?
When I was in high school thinking about where I wanted to go to college and what I wanted to do I looked at the people in my life and asked myself, “Who loves what they do?” I have two aunts who are pediatric occupational therapists and who are passionate about their work. Over the years of listening to them and learning from them, I knew that was what I wanted to do.
What do patients like most about you? And your organization?
I believe the kids I work with enjoy how I tailor each therapy session toward their interests and make therapy fun!
