What is the essence of what you do?
I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who graduated with honors from Pima Medical Institute with an Associates in Applied Science for Occupational Therapy Assistant. I have experience in working with people of all ages in a school, clinical, and hospital setting. As an occupational therapy assistant, I strive to help give my patients as much independence as possible, so they are able to live their lives to the fullest. By focusing on their strengths and abilities my patients will achieve amazing things.
Your personal interests:
I enjoy serving the special needs community by participating in volunteer events around the valley such as Best Buddies, and Special Olympics. I also love hiking, teaching children’s church, and spending time with my loved ones.
What do you believe? (A quote that describes you):
I believe everyone can make a difference! And if you can spread anything, spread kindness. There is a saying that helps remind me why I chose this field and pushes me to keep going, “we rise by lifting others”. The world needs more kindness, so let’s be the light in someone’s life!
What do you like most about your job?
My favorite part of working with patients is being a part of their progress and success. There is truly no greater joy than watching a child’s eyes light up because of how proud they are of themselves.
Why did you choose to become an occupational therapy assistant?
My beautiful little brother is what inspired me to become a COTA. Although he was born with a developmental disability his therapist has always brought out the best in him. I strive to help bring out the best in my patients and make my little hero proud.
What do patients like most about you?
I feel my patients appreciate my genuine caring heart, and my always open listening ears. I truly love connecting with my patients and building a successful trusting relationship with them.
